Shannon Smith Jewelry

My love of Native American jewelry began as a child. I loved getting in my grandmother‘s collection and would lay her stuff everywhere.... I’d put it all on. She started collecting in the 30s and 40s. My mom started collecting in the 60s. We started going to New Mexico when I was seven. I would save all my money and spend hours shopping on the Plaza in Santa Fe just to pick one special piece.  Santa Fe is still my happy place.

Today, that same love has grown into a business that first began with collecting, curating and designing.  Each piece is unique - when you think of the hands that made it and how it’s been passed down - especially the old ones from the 30s and 40s. The imperfections are part of their beauty. I'm just a custodian - passing them along for future generations to hopefully discover and appreciate.  I love the romance of all pieces, the workmanship - like a window into the rich history of the Native Americans. Each piece is one of a kind, hand-crafted, and worn by time.
